CloudFest 2027 runs March 15–18 at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany, and I'll be there again next year.
What is CloudFest
For anyone who hasn't been: CloudFest is the world's largest internet infrastructure event, which is a genuine hybrid of trade fair, conference, and festival, held inside a full-scale amusement park.
Between 2024 and 2026, it grew from roughly 8,700 to over 10,000 attendees, with 250+ speakers and 150+ partner companies from 60-plus countries showing up each year.
CloudFest is less a conference in the traditional sense and more a week where the entire hosting, cloud, and web-infrastructure industry ends up in the same place at the same time — sessions and expo halls by day, legendary parties inside the park by night.
I attended CloudFest 2026, and much of my current event network traces back to it. That's the real value of CloudFest for me: less about any single session, more about the density of infrastructure, hosting, and domain-industry people in one place over four days.
What to expect in 2027
CloudFest hasn't published its full 2027 agenda yet, but recent editions have centered on the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, digital sovereignty, sustainability, and open source. These themes are shaping where internet infrastructure goes next.
Expect the same format that's defined the event for the past few years: keynotes and breakout sessions during the day, a large exhibition floor (CloudFest.FAIR), and the after-hours networking the event is famous for.
Why I'm going
My focus in 2027 is the same lens I bring to everything: AI Visibility and where competitive intelligence intersects with infrastructure.
The CloudFest crowd (hosting providers, cloud platforms, domain players, and the tool-stack vendors serving them) sits close to the kind of digital-asset and infrastructure conversations I'm having through Competico and my broader deal-sourcing work.
