This was my second attendance at CloudFest. In 2025, I attended as a media partner from MonetizeBetter. This year, I attended as the CEO of Competico, walking in as a delegate and strategic advisor, pitching AI Visibility audits and partnership solutions across four days of back-to-back meetings with hosting CEOs, cloud founders, SaaS infrastructure leaders, and domain operators.

In 2025, I was there to cover the event for my communities, but in 2026 I went to sell into it.

The one thing I keep coming back to

Last year I had to explain AI Visibility before I could even start a conversation about it. This year, hosting providers brought it up before I did. Several mid-sized European hosts told me they are already tracking how often their brand shows up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini answers when someone asks for a hosting recommendation. Most of them do not like what they see.

That is the shift I came for. When the buyer walks in with the problem already defined, the market is no longer in education mode.

Key takeaways for SEO and AI Visibility professionals

  • AI Visibility demand has matured. Hosting providers raised LLM citations and AI search presence unprompted. The market has moved from education to buying mode.
  • GEO is now a distinct profession. Traditional SEO optimizes for clicks. Generative Engine Optimization optimizes for citations. Treating them as the same problem costs brands a measurable Share of Model.
  • NIS2 compliance is a first-filter sales qualifier in enterprise infrastructure deals, and a commercial-intent SEO cluster most European hosting providers have not captured yet.
  • AI-generated code is creating a new class of technical SEO errors — schema hallucinations, canonicalization drift, hreflang failures — that standard audit frameworks do not cover.
  • The topical authority race has reached the infrastructure layer. Major hosting providers are building editorial operations explicitly for AI search visibility. The content quality bar has risen sharply since mid-2025.

Why I continue to attend CloudFest

Almost none of the above came from a session or a press release. It came from the expo floor, from dinners, and from private conversations.

CloudFest puts the people who build and buy internet infrastructure in one place for four days, and the real signal comes from what they say when nobody is presenting.

For anyone in SEO, Competitive intelligence, or AI Visibility, that is the upstream layer of everything we work on downstream. You cannot get it from a dashboard.

I went deeper on all of this, including the infrastructure variables most SEO audits miss, the 2025 vs. 2026 comparison table, the exhibitors worth tracking, and how the March 2026 Google Core Update fits in the full review I did on Competico:

CloudFest 2027 runs March 15–18 at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany. I will be there and looking to meet with people in hosting, infrastructure, SaaS, and M&A, so please get in touch.
