The Great Blogging Collapse, AI Visibility, and the Future of Organic Traffic
Interview on Champions of Performance Marketing, hosted by Julia Draghici (powered by CPV One), August 20, 2026
I sat down with Julia Draghici on Champions of Performance Marketing to talk about the research behind The Great Blogging Collapse, how AI search decides who gets recommended, and what affiliate marketers and content businesses should do now that organic traffic is no longer a safe bet.
If your business depends on Google, this conversation is about you.
The numbers behind the collapse
I tracked 100 once-successful blogs from 2022 to 2026. The results:
- The median blog lost 85% of its organic traffic
- 75% of blogs lost 75% or more of their visitors
- Only 21% are still growing
Some niches held up well: parenting (+108%), DIY and crafts, food and recipes, and travel. Others were almost wiped out. Finance, blogging income, and make-money tutorials lost 90%-99% of their organic traffic.
